Refund & Cancellation Policy

Draft notice: Adjust the stages and percentages below to match how your engagements actually run (e.g. document collection → registry search → litigation search → report drafting), and have it reviewed by a lawyer before publishing.

1. Before work begins

If you cancel before we begin document collection or registry search on your case, you are eligible for a full refund of any advance paid, less applicable payment gateway charges.

2. Once verification is underway

Because our fee covers registry, court, and municipal searches carried out on your behalf — many of which involve non-refundable government or third-party charges — refunds once work has started are calculated based on work completed:

Draft report issued	Non-refundable

Any government fees, EC charges, or third-party costs already incurred on your behalf are non-refundable at any stage.

3. How to request a refund

Email [legal@5checkmate.com] with your reference number and reason for cancellation. Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within [7–10 business days].

4. Non-refundable items

Government registry fees, RTI/certified copy charges, and advocate consultation fees already paid out on your behalf are non-refundable once incurred.
